The Cape Kiwanda Longboard Contest is on for August 1st and 2nd 2009. This year, as in years prior, the contest will be held on the beach in Pacific City, Oregon. The contest is for longboards only, 9 feet and up. Contestants will be judged on three criteria: size and quality of wave, length of ride, and maneuvers the rider can complete. We plan on running six man heats, 9 age divisions, and the top six finishers in each division will get a great unique trophy. This is a family oriented, community sponsored event that features great commentators and loaded with lot’s of cool stuff!
Word has it like last year they’ll be live music on Saturday night, food and beverage vendors on the beach and lots of good fun for everyone all weekend. Make your plans now to enjoy this awesome 11th anniversary historical event and not only be a part of history but have a GREAT WEEKEND!
